Overlooking Robert’s Bay in Sarasota, this project uses the natural elements of wood and stone to add warmth and texture to the minimalist architecture. We worked closely with the contractor and stair fabricator to refine and detail the suspended metal stair, using hickory wood treads, stainless steel connections, and a wood and glass handrail. A walnut veneer feature wall on the ground level provides a focal point for the owner’s colorful artwork, while at the same time, concealing the bathroom door. Finishes include hickory wood flooring, limestone tile flooring, walnut veneer, and marble counter tops and fireplace surround. The concrete planters and gas fire-tables are custom designed.
